Hit the beach this August for the return of Guildford-on-Sea

23rd July 2019

Enjoy all the fun of the seaside this August as Guildford-on-Sea returns to the banks of the River Wey.

Located next to The Electric Theatre, Onslow Street, Guildford’s urban beach is free to enter and open daily from 10am to 6pm on 8 to 10 August 2019. Organised by Experience Guildford with support from the Electric Theatre and Guildford’s Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), it’s the ideal place to have fun with the kids after a busy day at the shops, with bucketfuls of sand, deck chairs, balloon giveaways, beach huts, free face painting and candyfloss.

Plus, for the second year, Guildford-on-Sea Sundown Sessions also breeze back to the beach from 7pm to 10pm on 8 and 9 August. Promising relaxed and chilled out summer vibes targeted at an older audience (over 18’s only), the Sundown Sessions are the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset beside the River Wey with a drink in your hand and the sand between your toes. Highlights include DJs, ping pong tables – thanks to Popworld Guildford, beach volleyball – including a charity tournament for local businesses to get behind on Thursday 8 August, Giant Jenga and Connect Four, along with delicious food from Lord Falafel and drinks courtesy of The Electric Theatre bar.

Enjoy a slice of the seaside this year at Guildford-on-Sea, the town’s sizzling attraction that’s become one of Surrey’s favourite summer hot spots for all ages.
