Celebrating Guildford’s innovative achievements

15th December 2020

Celebrate the very best of Guildford’s business community at the 2020 Guildford Innovation Awards.  The virtual ceremony takes place this Thursday, 17 December.  Flying the flag for Guildford’s many cutting edge and innovative companies, social enterprises, charities and individuals, the virtual awards ceremony will be hosted by Jim Al-Khalili, the well-known Professor of Physics and Public Engagement in Science.  The ceremony starts at 4pm and you can register for the event here.

2020 marks the fourth year of the Innovation Awards, run in partnership with Guildford Borough Council, the University of Surrey and Surrey Research Park. A new award has been added this year to recognise the huge efforts made by local people and businesses to adapt in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“These awards are a great opportunity to boost morale after a difficult year,” says Cllr Gordon Jackson, chair of the Council’s Innovation Board. “We created the awards four years ago to highlight the very best of innovation in our Borough and confirm Guildford’s place on the map as a leading centre for technology and entrepreneurship.”

Malcolm Parry, CEO of Surrey Research Park says “With such a challenging backdrop to 2020, we have seen an incredible amount of resilience, agility and collaboration demonstrated at Surrey Research Park. We look forward to everyone coming together to celebrate the innovative achievements from companies on the Park as well as throughout the business community in Guildford.”
