Amicala and Socius plans to create an Integrated Retirement Community at Members Hill, Weybridge.

A planning application has been submitted to Elmbridge Borough Council following consultation with local residents, businesses and stakeholders. You can view this on the Council website with this reference number 2022/2746

What is an integrated retirement community?
An integrated retirement community (IRC) provides specialist accommodation and care to older people when in need.

Helen Jones, Chief Operating Officer at Amicala adds “Care and support are provided within the community’s central facilities and unlike care homes, residents own their own home and have more space, including their own front door, to maintain independence and privacy.”

 

Our proposals will offer:

  • The refurbishment of vacant office space, providing 205 new purpose-built, age appropriate homes
  • A sympathetic and sustainable development targeting the highest environmental standards
  • Care for older members of the community, in a place the whole community can use and enjoy

 

 

Progress so far

Over the course of 2022 we have enjoyed engaging with Weybridge residents and the wider community alongside councillors and officers from Elmbridge Council.

We received a wide range of feedback from hundreds of local people via our website survey, public exhibitions and in person briefings.

We have now submitted our plans for Members Hill to Elmbridge Borough Council for their consideration.
