Surrey Translation Bureau Successfully Renews ISO Certification in Three Standards

Farnham-based translation company, Surrey Translation Bureau (STB) has again secured successful certification to three different professional ISO Standards this February: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17100:2015 and ISO 18587:2017.
This certification sets the award-winning Language Service Provider (LSP) apart from its competitors. As an important aspect of STB’s business objectives is continuous improvement, these ISO Standards mean stringent processes when it comes to quality assurance, recruitment of suppliers, project management and customer service, as well as rigorous procedures for data security and client confidentiality. Being certified involves ensuring all staff understand the importance of strict adherence to the Quality Management System and procedures in place for every aspect of daily operations.
STB’s Head of Operations, Hannah Stacey, commends the team’s collective hard work: “We are proud to renew our certification across these three ISO Standards once again – a lot of hard work and dedication goes into ensuring our processes can be upheld at every point of our service offering and it’s rewarding to see our ongoing efforts be acknowledged year on year through ISO certification.”
ISO 9001:2015 certification specifies general requirements for a quality management system, for organisations of any size, type and sector.
The ISO 17100:2015 Standard lists requirements for a translation service provider’s operations, resources, and other processes that are essential for the delivery of a quality service.
As the first internationally-recognised ISO Standard for post-editing of machine translation output (PEMT), ISO 18587:2017 defines the competences and qualifications of anyone delivering post-editing work, as well as clarifies the process related to offering a post-editing service.
