Charity Family Fun Day at Hartsfield Manor!

4th July 2018

Last Sunday Hartsfield Manor in Betchworth played host to another fantastic family fun day in aid of local charity, George and The Giant Pledge. This is the second family fun day the hotel has hosted and with the weather on side it really was a fantastic day raising over £1500.

George Woodall is a very brave little boy who lives locally in Redhill. 18 months ago, aged 4 George was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer and has undergone a years worth of intensive treatment. His parents set up George and the Giant Pledge at the beginning of his treatment with the aim to raise £1m for The Royal Marsden to go towards research specifically into childhood cancer. Hartsfield Manor together with their sister hotel Reigate Manor have chosen George and the Giant Pledge as their charity with fundraising efforts across the two hotels raising over £10,000 so far.

The day was a huge success down to many local people giving up their time to come and get involved. Unison, the Redhill based choir run by singer Nina Bromham, sung some hits from The Greatest Showman and Trolls including George’s favourite song. There were live bands, Punch and Judy, bouncy castles, bungee trampolines, a dog show, face painting and balloon modelling to keep everyone entertained in the glorious sunshine. With a BBQ and jugs of Pimms a plenty it was a great way for families to come along and enjoy themselves all whilst raising money for this excellent cause.

Giles Thomas, Group General Manager said “What a great day! It was so fantastic to see our beautiful grounds so busy and full of life. We couldn’t do these days without so many people giving up their time. We love supporting the Woodall family in their quest to raise £1millon for The Royal Marsden and we aim to continue supporting them for as long as it takes!”
