CHRISTMAS 2020 AT THE YVONNE ARNAUD THEATRE

9th December 2020

A magical adventure awaits you and your family this Christmas as the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre is thrilled to announce its production of The Snow Queen, running from Friday 11 to Thursday 24 December 2020.

When Kai falls victim to the power of the Snow Queen, his best friend Gerda sets out on an epic journey to rescue him. Can she, with the help of the friends she meets along the way, reach the frozen north and release Kai from the Snow Queen’s icy spell?

This timeless fairy tale by Hans Christian-Anderson is brought to life in a magical adaptation by Tony Award-winning Nick Stafford (War Horse), directed by the Yvonne Arnaud’s own Joanna Read. The announcement follows the cancellation of the theatre’s pantomime, Robin Hood, in the summer, and promises to bring some festive joy to families this Christmas.

There’s something for the grown-ups too! On Tuesday 15 December the theatre welcomes cabaret veterans Kit Hesketh-Harvey and James McConnel, heavily laden with their 2020 take on subjects ranging from Macron to mackerel, Putin to Pampers. Join them for an evening of wit, musical silliness, improvisation and general absurdity. Then on Thursday 17 December Fascinating Aïda’s Dillie Keane returns with a delightful evening of hilarious songs and stories, accompanied by Michael Roulston.

Joanna Read, Director and Chief Executive at the Yvonne Arnaud, said: ‘Although our beloved pantomime won’t be possible this year, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll still be producing a bit of festive magic this Christmas. It may seem strange to be announcing this given the current circumstances, but we are optimistic that we can still deliver you some top quality, and above all else, safe, Christmas cheer this year!’

Tickets for The Snow Queen are on sale from Monday 9 November and on sale to Members now. Tickets for Dillie Keane and Kit and McConnel are on sale now. Tickets are available at: www.Yvonne-Arnaud.co.uk.
