Source in Surrey
Source in Surrey is a UK Government-funded initiative delivered by Surrey Chambers of Commerce. It is dedicated to supporting local businesses to win more customers, connect with each other, access opportunities, and strengthen local supply chains across the county. This buy-local initiative has wide-ranging support from both public and private sector organisations that recognise the importance of helping SMEs grow within Surrey’s £50 billion economy.
This innovative programme of support will help strengthen the regional economy through the creation of an AI-powered platform to streamline connections between buyers and suppliers, ensuring small and medium-sized businesses benefit more from the spending opportunities provided by the larger organisations in the county. Surrey based SMEs will find sourcing new customers faster and simpler with the use of the new AI business to business matchmaking tool.
Alongside the AI-tool, a programme of roadshows, training, and buyer – supplier events bring businesses together in person creating opportunities to learn, network, and build the relationships that power successful local supply chains. Together, this combination of AI and face-to-face engagement will help Surrey businesses be more connected, expand their customer base, and keep business local.

Our Work So Far
At Source in Surrey, we’ve combined in-person engagement with the development of our AI platform to support businesses across the county. A key focus of our work so far has been the development of the Source in Surrey AI platform. The platform has been shaped through direct engagement with Surrey businesses, ensuring it responds to real challenges around procurement, visibility, and accessing new opportunities. The tool has already generated strong interest, with many organisations already signing up to be among the first to use the platform.
Our Source in Surrey Roadshows have played a key role in engaging businesses and building momentum across the county. Hosted at venues including Tandridge Golf Club, Hartsfield Manor, and The Thames Club, these events have brought together a wide range of organisations, from SMEs to established brands.
Through keynote talks, expert insights, and networking opportunities, attendees have gained practical knowledge on procurement, pricing, and business development, while also being introduced to the capabilities of the AI platform. These roadshows have not only supported learning, but have also helped to build valuable connections and strengthen the local business network.
Alongside platform development and roadshows, we’ve delivered expert-led sales training workshops to help businesses maximise new opportunities. Led by Anita Saini of HX Solutions, these sessions have provided practical guidance on sales techniques, negotiation, closing strategies, and account management. Feedback from participants has been consistently positive, with many highlighting how the training has helped them refine their approach and improve their ability to win new business.
Our Source in Surrey Buyer–Supplier Exchange is a focused, high-value event designed to help scale-ready businesses unlock new opportunities and better understand how to access supply chains. This event brings together SMEs, buyers, and procurement professionals for practical, hands-on support and meaningful connections. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how procurement processes work, including guidance on investment levels for frameworks and how to overcome common barriers.
