NOVA CINEMA SET TO RELAUNCH IN WOKING TOWN CENTRE – REOPENING CONFIRMED FOR 20TH MAY 2021

Woking’s brand-new, award winning Nova Cinema is back and ready to relaunch on Thursday 20th May 2021, opening Thu – Sun as the world eases back to normality.
The cinema will throw open its doors once again with an exciting slate of films making up its opening programme including Godzilla Vs Kong in 4k and Dobly Atmos, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, Nomadland, Sound of Metal, Spiral: From the Book of Saw, Maya the Bee 3: The Golden Orb, The Secret Garden and Minari.
Ever committed to looking after film fan families, during half term Nova Cinema will be open every day with a Nova Kids screening at 10.30am and tickets just £3.
A brief launch in October last year, before months of national lockdown, saw Nova Cinema reveal a stunning full refurbishment, an out-of-this-world rebrand, plus a series of exciting events and bespoke programming.
Despite being closed, the newest Cinema in Woking has continued to sparkle as it was honoured at the International Design Awards (IDA) 2020 for its incredible transformation under the guidance of Wren Architecture and Design Ltd.
Thanks to a joint investment from Woking Borough Council and venue owners, Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), Nova Cinema is set to resume its position as town centre’s brightest new star, boasting some of the best technology on offer within commercial cinema, and an unrivalled food and drink offer.
Social distancing and safety measures will remain in place at Nova Cinema to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
Simon Thomsett, Nova Cinema’s Venue Director, says “The time has finally come for us to relaunch our brand-new Nova Cinema and we could not be more excited!
“It’s been an incredibly challenging time for cultural venues up and down the country and we are so happy to emerge from it with something so beautiful for the people of Woking and beyond to enjoy.
“We were lucky enough to be able to share it with some audiences when we originally launched late last year and the feedback was fantastic. So, to all those who never got the Nova experience last time around, come along and join us… our doors are open.”
The reopening of Nova Cinema is a monumental moment for film-lovers in Woking, and for the town as a whole as it emerges from the national lockdown. The refurbishment of the ATG run venue is a significant step in Woking’s regeneration, and the relaunch collaborates with Woking Borough Council’s initiative to revitalise the town centre.
