This May, we invite you to explore a rich and varied programme of events at Guildford Cathedral — a place to pause, connect, and be inspired. From uplifting choral music and reflective services to creative family activities and a compelling new art exhibition, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you’re a regular visitor or discovering us for the first time, you’ll receive a warm welcome and a chance to experience the beauty and spirit of this extraordinary place.

VE Day 80th Anniversary
Join us as we commemorate this significant milestone in British history.

Wednesday 8 May, 6.30pm – Bell Ringing
Eighty years after Victory in Europe Day, the Cathedral bells will ring out in celebration, echoing the joyous sounds heard across the country in 1945.

Sunday 11 May, 3.00pm – County Service for VE Day
A special service to mark this historic anniversary, open to all.

Art Exhibition – Lifting My Eyes: A Story of Ascents
24 April – 26 May (during Cathedral opening hours)

Photographic artist Fi Bunn presents a stunning visual exploration of mountain ascents, reflecting the Earth Day 2025 theme Our Power, Our Planet. The exhibition invites us to consider our responsibility as stewards of nature and the creative ways we can sustain our world.

  • Sunday 18 May, 9.45am – Cathedral Eucharist for the Anniversary of Consecration
  • Thursday 29 May, 7.00pm – Choral Eucharist for Ascension Day

Sunday School will be available during the 9.45am Eucharist on 4 May, 1 June and 6 July.

 

Family Events

Engaging and creative activities for younger visitors and their families.

Wednesday 7 May, 10.00am – Cathedral Tots
A relaxed, welcoming service for pre-schoolers and their carers. This month’s theme is God’s Big Story: Resurrection, featuring a Bible story, activities, and refreshments.

Wednesday 28 May, 10.00am – 12.30pm – Family Fun Day
Join us for a morning of space-themed crafts in our beautiful building.
Free entry, but booking is essential. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Music and Concerts
Experience live music in the unique atmosphere of the Cathedral.

Thursday 8 May, 10.30am – Coffee Concert
Enjoy a FREE informal mid-morning concert with the University of Surrey Ensembles. Refreshments available.

Thursday 15 May, 7.30pm – The Music of Whitney: Live in Concert
Taryn Charles, Britain’s Got Talent 2024 golden buzzer winner, performs Whitney Houston’s greatest hits with an incredible live band.

Acorn Healing Hub
Thursday 29 May, 12.00 – 1.30pm
Also taking place on 26 June and 31 July.
Acorn Christian Healing offers a safe and compassionate space for prayer and reflection. All are welcome to receive ministry and encounter the healing love of Christ.
