Action needed: Directors, verify your identity with Companies House NOW!
24th September 2025

Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency (ECCT) Act 2023
From 18th November 2025, all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) must verify their identity with Companies House.
This is a one-off legal requirement.
Once verified, you’ll receive a personal code which you’ll need to share with us so we can continue filing on your behalf.
What you need to do now
- Have valid photo ID ready – e.g. passport or driving licence.
- Verify online using the official Companies House service:
👉 Verify your identity for Companies House- You’ll need a GOV.UK One Login account (sign up with a personal email address that only you use).
- If asked for your address, use your home address.
- Get your personal code – once verified, Companies House will issue you a code.
- Send your personal code to us by email – this allows us to continue submitting your confirmation statements.
⚠️ You only need to verify once, but every director or person with significant control (PSC) will need to complete this process.
Key points to remember
- You must complete verification yourself. We cannot do this for you.
- This is a one-off process – once we have your code, no further annual action is needed.
- From 18th November 2025, your company’s confirmation statement cannot be filed without these codes.
✅ Please complete your identity verification as soon as possible and forward your personal code to us. Acting early avoids delays and keeps your company compliant.
And remember, if you have any questions or need help along the way, just reply to this email or give us a call — we’re always happy to help.
