Drawing upon his deep reservoir of historical insight and a lifetime of leadership in education, he masterfully blends wit, wisdom, and thought-provoking commentary, peppered with humour and reflections from his personal encounters with some of the world’s most influential figures. Whether sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses from the corridors of power or championing the transformative power of education, Sir Anthony ensures every address is both enlightening and memorable—leaving guests inspired long after the final course.

This spectacular evening will celebrate the Cathedral as it approaches its 65th year, with proceeds supporting its ongoing work and mission.

Guests will be treated to a Champagne Reception, followed by a luxurious dinner crafted from the finest locally sourced ingredients. The event will include live music, captivating entertainment, and exclusive charity auction items.

Guildford Cathedral is a cornerstone of the local community, drawing in over 100,000 visitors annually for various events and activities beyond regular services. Its offerings include Cathedral Tots for preschoolers and Coffee Concerts, which see over 1,000 attendees each year. In the past year, over 1,300 school pupils engaged in Cathedral workshops, while more than 300 visitors dared to climb the 249 steps for the popular Tower Tours.

The Very Rev Bob Cooper, Dean of Guildford Cathedral said: “Guildford Cathedral holds a special place in the heart of our community, serving as a beacon of faith, culture, and heritage for generations. Local businesses are encouraged to support for our Gala Dinner to help us raise crucial funds for our ongoing projects within the community, whilst providing your company with the perfect opportunity to entertain clients and/or reward colleagues.  Equally individuals can book to attend and have the opportunity to meet new friends at a very special event.”

The funds raised from the Gala Dinner will support Guildford Cathedral in maintaining its legacy for future generations by continuing to inspire through music, education, and community outreach.
