BBC NEWS STORY: ‘PRAISE FOR LIFE-CHANGING WORK OF MENTAL HEALTH CHARITY’
We are very grateful to BBC Journalist Emily Coady-Stemp for visiting us to write a story about Oakleaf and our ‘Path to Success’ employment project in partnership with Guildford Action. Her coverage will help us shine a light on the essential mental health and wellbeing support available at Oakleaf to hundreds of individuals in Surrey.
A special thank you to one of our wonderful clients, Sean [pictured below], for bravely sharing his story.
“Sean Bright, who has mild schizoaffective disorder and ADHD, said after “losing the fight” with his mental health and being sectioned seven times in seven years, he’s now getting ready to apply for jobs again.
Mr Bright said: “What Oakleaf has done for me is enabled me to look at my mental illness as something, put it into a frame. I’m gradually pulling my life out of the mental illness, which is what I need to do to live the life that I delight in, and that’s the process I’m in.”
We also want to extend our appreciation to The National Lottery for their continued support of Oakleaf.
