Surrey Jobcentre sites preparing for the arrival of Universal Credit Full Service

25th July 2018

All Jobcentre sites within Surrey are preparing for the arrival of Universal Credit Full Service in the autumn. Preparation work is underway to ensure staff are fully trained and in place for go-live in each office.

With Universal Credit, claimants can be flexible about working more hours or ad hoc additional hours because Universal Credit has no restrictions on the number of hours worked. It is designed so that it automatically responds to fluctuations in earnings, and allows claimants to keep receiving Universal Credit, making work pay.

Universal Credit provides employers with a more flexible workforce. It makes it easier for claimants to move in and out of work or increase their hours, so employers will find it easier to fill temporary vacancies and have access to a wider pool of applicants

Your local Jobcentre will be hosting events for local employers promoting the benefits of Universal Credit for the recruitment and retention of staff. If you are an employer and would like to attend an event or for further information on how Universal Credit can help in the  recruitment and retention of staff please contact your local Jobcentre and ask to speak to the Employer Adviser.
