Surrey Chambers Members Offered New Support Ahead of Major Employment Law Changes

13th March 2026

Members of Surrey Chambers of Commerce are being offered new support to help prepare for the most significant changes to employment law in a generation.

From April 2026, updates to the Employment Rights Act (ERA) will begin to take effect, bringing substantial reforms that will impact how businesses manage their employees, policies and compliance responsibilities. The changes will be introduced in stages, with further developments expected through to 2027.

To help members understand and prepare for these reforms, Quest Cover, the affiliated HR and Health & Safety provider for the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), is offering a complimentary ERA Compliance Review as an added benefit of Surrey Chambers membership.

The new service has been designed to give businesses practical guidance on how the new legislation will affect their organisation and what steps they may need to take.

  • Through the ERA Compliance Review, members will be able to:
  • Understand the key legal changes and how they apply to their business
  • Identify potential gaps or risks within existing HR policies and procedures
  • Receive clear, practical advice on the actions required to remain compliant

With several stages of reform scheduled between 2026 and 2027, it is important that businesses begin preparing early. Each phase of the new legislation will introduce new employer responsibilities that may require updates to internal policies, employment contracts and management practices.

To support forward planning, Quest Cover has also produced a clear timeline outlining the key milestones and implementation dates associated with the upcoming ERA changes. This will help members stay informed about when each update is expected and what action may be required.

Members of Surrey Chambers of Commerce are encouraged to take advantage of the complimentary ERA Compliance Review to ensure their business is prepared for the evolving employment law landscape.
