Council adopts Effingham Neighbourhood Plan

16th April 2018

The Council has adopted the Effingham Neighbourhood Plan, following our meeting on 10 April and the successful referendum result on 22 February.

The Effingham Neighbourhood Plan forms part of the development plan for the borough of Guildford and will help to decide the outcome of planning applications within the Effingham Neighbourhood Area.

The Localism Act 2011 introduced new rights to help communities shape development in their local areas. Neighbourhood plans and orders can set planning policies and grant up front permission for developments that the community wants to see go ahead. They must take account of national policy and help meet the strategic needs of the wider local area.
