Guildford is about to have its first ever 10k run through the town thanks to Kelly’s Storage Charity Events in partnership with University of Surrey Students’ Union!

THE KELLY’S GUILDFORD 10K will take place on Saturday 16th February with every single penny raised going to two local charities chosen by the Students’ Union. The one lap 10k, will start at the University of Surrey, exploring the impressive grounds and passing some of the great monuments such as the Observatory, lake and Stag before heading along the river into town via the iconic Cathedral and through the Cricket Grounds. There’s also a shorter 5k option that stays on Stag Hill for the less experienced runners. There will be lively water stations, town support and great entertainment in the runners’ village. Professional basket ballers from Surrey Scorchers will be making an appearance too and will be happy to be in your selfies so come along and grab the  opportunity!

Alexa Hughes from the University of Surrey Students’ Union says, “The Students’ Union is excited to work in partnership with Kelly’s Storage Charity Events on this event and is grateful to them for covering 100% of the costs of the event, giving us this great opportunity to bring people onto campus. A positive and productive relationship between students, staff and the local community is very important to us and is something we are working hard to develop. As Vice President Activity I am passionate about having an active campus that supports our chosen charities and am very much looking forward to seeing the area come alive on February 16th.”

Moira Martin, Director of Kelly’s Storage Charity Events said ‘Kelly’s Storage have had a close working relationship with University of Surrey for many years. We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with the Surrey Students’ Union & bring Guildford its first 10k run through the town. As Kelly’s are paying all costs for the event two wonderful local charities will receive 100% of all the money raised.
