Experience Guildford announces this year’s Customer Service Awards shortlist

For the last six weeks, residents and visitors to Guildford have been voting for the businesses in the town that they feel go the extra mile in terms of providing great customer service as part of the Experience Guildford Customer Service Awards. Now in their ninth year, the awards have become a key calendar event of the town, highlighting businesses that consistently put their customers first and covering the full retail and leisure mix.

Voting closed on Sunday 24th July, with just under 2,000 votes received across the campaign period.

The three shortlisted businesses per category for the 2022 Experience Guildford Customer Service Awards include. See attached.

Each of the shortlisted businesses will now be visited and assessed by a ‘Secret Shopper’ who will anonymously evaluate and feedback on their standard of service.

 

The final winners of each of the categories will then be announced at a special ceremony at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Monday 5th September, along with the winner of the ‘Shining Star’ category, offering managers of individual stores or businesses the chance to nominate their staff members who they feel should be recognised for great service.

 

Commenting on this year’s nominations and the huge response received through the public vote, Amanda Masters, chief executive at Experience Guildford, the town centre’s Business Improvement District (BID) says:

“After a two year covid-imposed break, it’s great to have the Customer Service Awards back up and running, and to see the enthusiasm and support from the public. Our high streets and the businesses that operate within them, have gone through the toughest and most unprecedented trading conditions. Their grit and determination to survive and succeed during this time should be applauded, and in the face of all this turmoil, those businesses that have continued to place outstanding customer service at the heart of their operation should be rewarded too.

“These awards offer visitors and residents the chance to do this, and it is wonderful to see the amazing  calibre of businesses we have out there. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to vote, and to all our town centre businesses who consistently go the extra mile to make Guildford the fabulous town that it is.”
