The COVID-19 pandemic and the effect it has had on businesses is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. As a Council we recognise the fundamental importance of supporting our local businesses in their efforts to recover and grow, as well as encouraging in new and innovative companies. We have many locational advantages (being close to London and Heathrow) which put us at the forefront of the national recovery. The Council also has significant landholdings which enables us to be in the driving seat for regenerating our main town centre to provide a vibrant and sustainable community,

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to help complement a small team in order to deliver the Council’s Economic Strategy 2022- 2027.  The emphasis will be on helping promote the local economy as well as supporting existing needs of local businesses through digital media, events and Business Support initiatives.

Spelthorne Council is very business friendly local authority and has a long record of providing excellent support for business, including the creation of the Spelthorne Business Forum.  The Council has also launched a new Business Incubator for innovative/ creative businesses, in which the successful applicant will play a key role.

This post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements.

The above post is based within the Regeneration & Growth Team reporting to the Senior Economic Development Officer.
