Welcome to the Surrey Chambers Leadership and Learning Forum

Making sure that local businesses know what training and development can do for them

Inspiring local consultants, trainers and coaches to share their best practice

Supporting leaders, supporting each other to get the most out of our businesses.

Background

The current economic climate has encouraged businesses to keep their heads down and keep working hard. This hard working approach will go a fair way to keeping business going, but we want to remind Surrey businesses what training, coaching and leadership development can do for them. With that in mind we have started the Leadership and Learning Forum.

Objectives

The Leadership and Learning forum aims to provide a low cost way for Surrey businesses to meet and reflect on Leadership and learning. This forum will be an ideal place to meet consultants, trainers and coaches to see if there is a match with their needs. We would also aim to refine our knowledge on what is having a positive impact on the region and share best practice and research:

By joining the Forum as a business you can ...
• Develop your own leadership and management skills
• Increase low cost learning opportunities
• Access databases of development providers
• Meet consultants, coaches and trainers

By joining the Forum as a training provider you can ...
• Meet other consultants, coaches and trainers
• Inspire businesses to invest in the training they need
• Share best pactice with other training providers

Measures of success in the above goals

1. More companies attending training events
2. More companies investing in developing their people
3. Companies achieving their goals more easily
4. Increased confidence and expertise in Leadership and Management
5. More independent consultants, coaches and trainers working together

All people development members i.e. consultants/coaches/trainers/learning providers join the ‘Development Consortium’. A place for this consortium will be provided on the Surrey Chambers website. Consultants will state their experience and give a short description of their 2 most recent successes; with feedback, plus a photo. Members of the Forum can look at this information.

Once a month low cost leadership and learning events will be organised.

Four quarterly meetings of the Development Consortium will be organised.
